How Our Values Evolved
While our mission has remained constant, our approach has evolved as we've grown
What began as a single Chicago meetup has transformed into a growing international movement. Our evolution from local gatherings to a global community reflects our belief that cybersecurity challenges are universal, and solutions should be accessible everywhere. Today, our chapters collaborate across borders, sharing knowledge and resources to strengthen digital safety worldwide.
Initially, our focus was on educational presentations and workshops. As we evolved, we saw the need for practical tools that people could apply immediately. This led to the development of frameworks like CyberScore, which translates complex security concepts into actionable metrics for people of all skill levels.
We recognized that different groups have unique security needs. This insight led us to develop specialized programs for women in tech, cybersecurity education for kids, digital safety for seniors, and enterprise security frameworks for businesses. Each program is tailored to its audience while maintaining our core commitment to accessibility and practical application.
